In 1980, Reilly Nail—author, artist, New York CBS television producer—along with his cousin Bill Bomar—artist and art collector—combined their collections of 20th century modern art, along with their mothers’ collections of Asian art, to form the core of the Old Jail Art Center's permanent collection. The collection has since expanded to include over 2,300 works of art ranging from ancient Pre-Columbian objects and Chinese tomb figures to French Impressionist paintings to contemporary paintings, drawings and sculpture.
