Object Description
Small triptych of carved wood; folds into a bookcase shape, far right panel fits in center of other two. Panels joined by brass wire staple hinges. Four sides have images of religious figures. When open center image is of Christ the pantocrator; the right panel, five apostles; the left panel, Mary. The fourth image is a scene at calvary with eight figures. Images are, perhaps, paper adhered to gesso and then painted over to highlight hands, faces, halos, crosses. Appears also to be traces of a metallic paint. All images are enclosed by a red painted frame. Exterior of box is red encrusted with grime.
