Object Description
Brown/black effigy jug with loop handle. Personage with animal-like hind quarters leaning over top of jug wearing sun ray helmet with face of sun god on it. Personage holds a serpent which is being eaten by a fish-like being, or may be a fish on a line. Important piece but with spout missing and handle has been glued on. Gross No. 252 PE. Item #2, page 8 (dining room) of Gross Inventory dated 7/7/88. NOTE from W. O. Gross, Jr. - recommend that spout be restored.

Black coloration was applied as a stain, not oxidation. Black wares were used for funerary pieces. (Non-black wares were used for domestic purposes)
