2006.025.01 Lid
In the center of the lid there are three small leaves issuing from a bud. The glaze is a transparent aqua color with the crazed glaze (tai pien effect). On the edge of lid is a small loop for attachment to a similar loop on the body of the vessel. The underside of the lid reveals an unglazed, pale redish body. One leaf on the lid is repaired. The repair appears to be old.
Ewer 2006.025.02
Elongated from with eight molded vertical lobes that rise to just below an incised band at the base of the trumpet neck, with another incised band below the shoulders, and a leaf incised at the base of the carved spout. A strap handle is applied at the top with a small loop for attachment to a corresponding loop on the concave lid. The glaze is a transparent aqua color with the crazed glazing (tai pein effect) stopping in an irregular fashion slightly above the base, exposing a pale reddish body on the unglazed base. Spout has been repaired, appears to be an old repair.
