Object Description
Chinese stone fragment of a head of a Bodhisattva. This piese ha has traits associated with the Six Dynasties (A.D. 220-589 ) and in particular the Northern Wei Dynasty (A.D. 386-535) in the north of China. A tall headress, elongated face and fixed smile are typical of this period. Unmounted. Second half of 5th Century in style. Top knot hair style swirled c band diadem.
