Object Description
Chinese stone fragment of a head, this one Kuan-Yin. This piece is in the style of late 8th Century in the T'ang period, but is very likely a late copy due to the inappropriate wear on the piece. Fragment head taken from a larger relief (temple).

1/19/07: INformation about the piece was changed after research and examination by Jennifer Casler Price, Curator of Asian and Non-Western Art at the Kimbell Art Museum in Fort Worth, Texas. This research was made possible through a grant funded by Institute of Museum and Library Services (MA-01-05-0387) for the period of October 2005- October 2007.
