Object Description
Chinese style horse in archaic style, the rider mounting. On base it measures 9 1/2 x 13 1/2 inches and is comprised of one piece of stone in imitation of bronze. It is marked "China" on bottom, indicating export after 1892.

1/19/07: Information about the piece was changed after research and examination by Jennifer Casler Price, Curator of Asian and Non-Western Art at the Kimbell Art Museum in Fort Worth, Texas. This research was made possible through a grant funded by Institute of Museum and Library Services (MA-01-05-0387) for the period of October 2005- October 2007.
