Object Description
"San Jose" copy of original from a reredo (alter screen) by an unknown santero. San Jose holding palm frond and Christ child. Rectangular panel formed from two 1/2" thick boards, approximate center. Red painted border around edges with stylized curtain painted with red and black at sides and top. San Jose wears crown, left arm holds palm frond, right hand holds Christ child. San Jose wears ermine appearing cape, has black hair and beard. Christ child wears red garment and extends left arm behind San Jose's neck; hair is black. A double halo surrounds their heads. A leather cord for hanging is at top center strung through two holes in the panel.
