Object Description
Simple line drawing of three overlapping prisms and six dots in a circular patter on a highly detailed photograph of James Surls' steel work table. Each shot is a detailed photo of a few inches of a steel worktable that has been magnified at least 50 times. The striking pattern in the backgrounds, taken from sections of the table about the size of the palm of one's hand, showcases incredible detail in every inch, revealing a landscape of scrapes, weld marks, dents, rust, and over forty years of hard-hewn age. (Surls built the table at his studio in Splendora, TX and has worked on it for over 40+ years.)
