Object Description
A dualistic work. On the right, a heavily impastoed Zeus is seen in vivid colors, he is very sketchily painted, impressionistic, implying a great deal of power and energy. To the left is a washed out simply painted nude woman in black and taupe, she is very plain, and clearly human versus the brilliant godliness of Zeus. Her head is thrown back in despair as Zeus’s lightning bolt is about to rape her.
