Object Description
Title, date and medium were taken from label written in 2007 by Jennifer Casler Price, Curator for Asian and Non-Western Art at the Kimbell Art Museum in Fort Worth, Texas Cong shaped 4-sided vase with canted corners, resting on a round base, is covered with a crackled glaze, decorated in painted and carved fashion with two sides decorated with poems in black ink, one side in a cursive (syin sz) script and the other in pictographic (dzuan sz) style. The other two sides are decorated in enameled colors, with a predominantly green and grey shading with touches or red. The two landscape panels are with short poems, signed with the artists red seal, together with several larger red seals referring to the literary depth of the government. The base rim is unglazed and the glazed base has a 6 character seal script Qianlong Reign Mark (1736-1795).
