Object Description
Portrait study of the head of a man facing to the right of the viewer.

Likely to be a portrait of Joe Mendez, a friend of the Fort Worth Circle. Mendez was a costume and set designer at the Reeder School, a school for children that was founded by Fort Worth Circle artists Dickson Reeder and Flora Blanc Reeder that produced elaborate productions like A Midsummer's Night Dream. He also worked as a model for several members of the Fort Worth Circle, including Utter.
