Object Description
Blue and white stacked four-tier food container on a wood base. The decorative base indicates it would have been more expensive and used more for show; it wouldn't have traveled with the owner. It was probably used for important meals such as the New Years Day Osechi Ryori feast. Jubako translates to "layered/ stacked boxes." The traditional way to eat from them is to start at the top and eat in order all the way to the bottom box.
