Bill Nail

American, (1903–1958)
William Reilly (Bill) Nail Sr. was born in Wolfe City and came to Albany with his parents at an early age. He later lived in Fort Worth for 22 years, and was associated with the Champlin Oil and Refining Co. as director of industrial relations and as a safety engineer in the oil business. Nail served in the Navy in World War II. Nail was a Catholic, member of Rivercrest and Ridglea Country Clubs in Fort Worth, the Fort Worth Art Association, the National Safety Council, and was a director of Reeder Children's School.

Bill Nail was the son of Robert Edward and Loretta Reilly Nail. Bill married Wyldon Elizabeth King in 1926. They had two children, William Reilly Nail Jr and Matilda Nail.

Note: Bill's son, William Reilly Nail Jr was the founder and first director of the Old Jail Art Center in Albany, TX. Bill's brother was Robert E. Nail Jr., for whom the Archives are named at the Old Jail Art Center in Albany, TX.
