Patrick Kelly works in a variety of mediums such as painting, sculpture, drawing, and photography. Utilizing appropriated text and imagery, he interjects objective and non-objective “blips” of information that interrupts, or redirects, the normal processes of image interpretation.

Kelly was born in Houston and raised in Lubbock, Texas. He received his BFA from the University of North Texas in Denton and an MFA from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas. He has been the recipient of several awards including the Dallas Museum of Art - Dozier Travel Grant and a Mid-America Arts Alliance / National Endowment for the Arts - Painting Fellowship. His work has shown his work at the Galveston Arts Center, Contemporary Art Center - Fort Worth, Arlington Museum of Art, San Antonio Museum of Art, Grace Museum - Abilene, TX, Nelson-Atkins Museum - Kansas City, Missouri as well as many other institutions throughout Texas and the United States. Currently he is the Director and Curator at the Old Jail Art Center in Albany, Texas.
