Scott Barber (1963 - 2005) received a BFA from the Cleveland Institute of Art, and an MFA from Southern Methodist University. He also studied at the Florence Academy of Art. Barber experimented with atypical materials and methods and created an oeuvre of boldly colored abstracts with a digital quality. When Barber was diagnosed with Leukemia, he drew inspiration from images of his own cancer cells to create his most impactful series.
