Helen Altman

American, b. 1958
Helen Altman was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and currently lives and works in Fort Worth, Texas. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and Masters of Arts degree at the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa and her Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of North Texas, Denton. Her work is included in the permanent collections of the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston; the Dallas Museum of Art; the Art Museum of Southeast Texas, Beaumont; the Art Museum of South Texas, Corpus Christi; the Houston Airport System, City of Houston; and the University of Houston, Texas. She has recently had solo exhibitions at The Old Jail Art Center, Texas; Tyler Museum of Art, Texas; and the Longview Museum of Fine Arts, Texas. Her work has also been included in solo exhibitions at the Grace Museum, Abilene, Texas; the Galveston Arts Center, Texas; and the Museum of Contemporary Art, San Diego, California.
