Mark Sheinkman

Sheinkman was born in New York City, where he currently lives and works. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Princeton University summa cum laude in art history and studio art in 1985. His primary media are oil painting, drawing, and printmaking. He has had forty solo exhibitions in galleries and museums in the US, Germany, England, Belgium, Spain, Italy, and Japan. Solo museum exhibitions have been mounted at the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art in Kansas City, Missouri in 2005, the Grand Rapids Art Museum, Michigan in 2008, and the Museum Gegenstandsfreier Kunst, Otterndorf, Germany in 2009.
In recent years, his work has been included in group exhibitions at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston, the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia, the Crocker Museum in Sacramento, the Museum Gegenstandsfreier Kunst, Otterndorf, Germany, and the Grand Rapids Art Museum. His artwork is included in the permanent collections of twenty-nine museums including the Museum of Modern Art, Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Whitney Museum in New York, the National Gallery in Washington, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, the Cleveland Museum of Art, the Harvard University Art Museum in Cambridge, Yale University Art Gallery in New Haven, and the National Museum of Prints and Drawings in Berlin.
He is currently represented by Von Lintel Gallery in Los Angeles, Steven Zevitas Gallery in Boston, and Pace Prints in New York.
