Joseph Edwin Blanton was born in Albany and graduated from Princeton University with bachelor's and master's degrees in Architecture. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He authored "The Organ in Church Design" and "The Revival of the Organ Case" and compiled "True Tales of the Frontier". He is a former member of Princeton Architectural Society, American Institute of Architects, Texas Society of Architects, Society of Architectural Historians, Texas State Historical Association, and West Texas Historical Association.He is an honorary life member of the Organ Historical Society.
